1st Grade Teacher
We are seeking a 1st Grade Teacher to join our dedicated faculty at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year.
Our new colleague will be warm, energetic, and Waldorf trained with a strong commitment to personal and professional development and an enthusiasm for collegial work. A commitment to working out of Anthroposophy and Social Justice is required. The best fit teacher for this class will be kind, patient, and also with clear and confidently held boundaries and expectations; follow-through is essential. A sense of humor goes a long way with this upcoming 1st Grade and the ability to offer engaging practical activities is a must. This teacher will have an interest in connecting deeply with the parent body as some families are longstanding and some are brand new to Waldorf education. An interest in each student’s developmental uniqueness and a willingness to explore creative support for them will be important in the forming of the class, and in serving their needs over the coming years.

Substitute Preschool Teacher

Kindergarten Assistant
It is an exciting time at the Santa Cruz Waldorf School (SCWS). We look forward to the opportunities that the academic year 2023 / 2024 will bring. We are seeking a part-time (75% [30 hrs/week for 37 weeks]) Kindergarten Assistant who will join our dedicated faculty at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.
Assistant Teachers help the Lead Teacher to oversee students and assist in the facilitation of daily programs. This position’s exact duties can vary widely depending on the particular circumstances of the classroom they’re in, but specific duties and responsibilities include:
Assists the teacher in the support and supervision of students who may exhibit emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges.
Supervises class and individual students when the teacher is occupied with other students or when directed by the Lead Teacher.
Supervises students during meals.
Assists the Lead Teacher to coordinate student drop-off and pick-up.
General maintenance and cleaning of the classroom during job hours.
Preparation of classroom supplies and equipment.
Displays discretion and confidentiality in communication.
Attends parent conferences as requested by the Lead Teacher.
Meets regularly with the Lead Teacher for planning and review of work.
Maintain contact with families and caregivers as guided by the Lead Teacher.
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have completed Waldorf or Lifeways Early Childhood training, and have experience as an Assistant or co-teacher in a Kindergarten setting.

The salary for this position is $52,650. Additionally, the school contributes 81%to the health care premium for the employee and their eligible family members.
