4th grade
Sunny Richter first encountered the work of Rudolf Steiner while in college and working on an organic farm in Maine. She was intrigued by the vibrant biodynamic community there and so impressed when the third grade class from the local Waldorf school visited that she was inspired to pursue Waldorf teacher training at Rudolf Steiner College in Sacramento, where she graduated in 2000. She then took the first grade class at SCWS.
This is now Sunny’s third time through the grades. She particularly enjoys singing, watercolor painting, hiking in nature, and creating performances with her students. She also plays the bagpipes and Irish whistle, and she is a member of the Santa Cruz Pipes and Drums.
Her favorite Steiner quote is, “All knowledge must have wonder as its seed.” She has been seeing the wonder of the world through the eyes of her students for over two decades now, and she’s looking forward to many more magical years at SCWS!
